I Survived the April A to Z Blogging Challenge .. Woohoo!

Applause please! I shall take a bow! For I have successfully completed the April A to Z Blogging Challenge! Not only completed it but finished with great style, no missed posts, and some serious fabulousness! Oh my God I am so awesome! *winks*

Now that the month of April has passed, the challenge is completed, and May is already racing away with my life it is time for a REFLECTION! Yayyyy!

Recap Time! What did I do?
On the 23rd Monday of March I published my great theme reveal! This was my first year doing the April A to Z Blogging challenge. Abbie (my darling sister who participated on her blog herself) got me into the challenge and all excited to have a Harry Potter theme too! Yes, she suggested I go with a Harry Potter theme. Genius, I tell you! So my theme became The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Orlando Florida. The two Harry Potter theme parks they've created for Potterheads that are completely mind blowing! I'd been wanting to blog in detail about the parks ever since the first time we visited the place, which was three years back. Sadly, somehow I was never able to (EL - AY - ZEE - WHY)! The A to Z challenge literally FORCED me to keep up and I enjoyed every second of it!

The Greatness of It All!
  • April wouldn't have been half as awesome had I not been doing the A to Z! It was a great joy to actually try and come up with something for each letter. Sometimes I had to be all genius and tweak stuff so that I had all letters working out. For example Dervish and Banges would otherwise have been 'D' but I wrote about Xenophilius's Quibbler to make it an 'X' entry. How else could I have possibly covered X? The only X in Harry Potter was Xenophilius Lovegood!
  • I met some awesome new bloggers! They had such great things to say about my blog's design, my writing, my theme, my entries for the challenge ... OH MY GOD I was on cloud nine. I'm super duper looking forward to staying in touch with them. An added bonus were the Potterheads I met!
  • I was FINALLY able to get into the spirit of blogging about my Potter vacations with Abbie!
  • Remembering everything from the parks has me craving for yet another trip!! Now where did this Abbie go?
  • For the first time ever, I blogged everyday for an entire month!
  • I was super surprised as well as jubilant for successfully completing the entire challenge. I didn't miss even a single day or a single alphabet and was able to write and post pictures in lots of detail! Claps for me, yes, thank you!

One Great Idea I Had!
Of course I always have lots to say so I have an idea for the A to Z Challenge too! Wouldn't it be super cool if at the end of the challenge people could vote for their favorite blogs somehow and the winning blog gets a badge to display and show off?! Not that it should be a competition, but just as a way of showing love to the ones we had great fun reading! I know some blogs I'd TOTALLY vote for from this year!

I really hope I get a chance to participate in next year's challenge too, and until then I can think of another creative theme! Though, to be honest, I don't think any theme can be as awesome as Harry Potter and our vacations to the parks in Florida! Until next time ...

  1. Thanks Sara! And lots of claps coming from Africa to you. It was a great time and I hope to keep in touch with some of my new contacts. But as for voting? That would mean us following ALL the blogs . . . Yikes! Out of Africa - Reflections on the Challenge

    1. Hey Shirley!
      Thank you!
You're right, it would be impossible to follow all the blogs! Maybe something like everybody recommending a favorite blog they found and a list of those who were recommended :D I don't know .. I'm just saying it'd add to the excitement, haha!

I had great fun doing the April A to Z but since then May has been SO busy for me! I haven't yet had a chance to go to the blog and check out stuff about this road trip! Hopefully though I will stop by soon to check it out and (hopefully!) join in!

  3. Hello there.
Congratulations on completing the challenge! You sound as if you have a lot of energy still left...I on the other hand am taking a much-needed and extended hiatus, but I'm keeping an eye on visitors so I can respond and visit them in return. Just meandering through today from the Road Trip.
