Sara's Word ~ A to Z Reflections & Getting Back On Track

Woohoo! Would you look at this? When did May start? When did ten days of May pass by? Seriously, are you joking? We must still be in April right!!!??? May has seriously not happened yet! Hahaha! Honestly, one second it was April and then I blinked and BAM it is the tenth of May tomorrow. How does that even happen?

You get the jist of it all: I have been VERY VERY VERY busy. I didn't even notice when April ended (except that little moment of joy when I told Abbie I had successfully finished the Blogging from A to Z Challenge) and it just baffles me to see a big fat number 9 mocking me from the calendar. April was very busy and very happening - in both a good and a bad kind - and the start of May was all about preparing for the start of Ramadan. I have worked myself to the point of physical exhaustion and have ended up straining my legs so that it feels like my ankles can't lift my weight anymore when I try to stand on them. But I'm still going! *raises her flag and listlessly waves it in the air* The first four days of Ramadan have been restful compared to the storm I sailed my way through before this and I'm hopeful the peace I'll find in Ramadan will help me get back on track.

Chop chop.
Let us get to the good stuff.

REFLECTIONS!
The April Blogging from A to Z Challenge has come to an end and it is finally time for my reflections. I'm breaking my rant down to three headings: the good, the bad, and the ugly! Starting with the good first. Ahem ahem! Well, I successfully completed the A to Z Challenge! And I did in great style. I actually wrote meaningful, super fun, super detailed entries complete with stunning pictures. I had taken a head start by about ten fifteen days which helped me stay on schedule but somewhere around two weeks in I found myself racing against time to make sure all my entries were posted at exactly midnight each day that they were due. Miraculously, I never even missed a single one! How cool am I right? But of course thanks to how busy April was I did end up facing the bad and the ugly.

The bad was that I wasn't able to interact with fellow A to Z participants as much as I wanted to. I did read a few blogs and left some comments here, there, everywhere. But I know it was certainly not enough or at least not like it's been for me in the past few years of doing this challenge. Which leads me to the ugly: I did not see as many people coming over to my blog as I usually do thanks to this challenge. Of course, I was having serious time management issues promoting my posts and tweeting and interacting on the A to Z Facebook page so how were people to find me, my awesome blog, and my awesome Harry Potter theme right? It was nobody's fault - not even mine because I did not choose any of the hectic baggage life decided to deposit on my door step. But anyhoo ... THAT happened. I guess I'll take a bigger head start next year so I can use the time in April for commenting and interacting instead. Lets see!

Until then lets rejoice that I survived the challenge!

For now, the goal is to get back on track. I have lots to blog about, lots to catch up on, and lots of creative projects to do - it's all in my head. The interesting question is, will I have time to do it all? *laughs* I hope I do! Fingers crossed for me!

XoXo

  1. Congrats on finishing the challenge. It's really not easy when all of your posts aren't pre-written!
