It's large, round, chewy, and delicious. When you bite into a warm piece of it it melts in your mouth. Each chocolate chip, each chunk, each and every inch of this deliciousness is a yummy treat - an unforgettable experience.
Meet the extra large GIANT cookie.
Meet The Cookiezilla!
The Cookiezilla is officially an original name given to this beasty deliciousness for Sara's Baked Creations. Abbie was the genius who came up with the name and every single time I've baked this the Cookizilla has lived up to its name.
So how large is the Cookiezilla?
Consider the picture above. That's a twelve inch round pizza pan!
The dough for the Cookiezilla is spread about two inches away from the corner of the pan so it can spread when baked. When it spreads out and cools down, ready to be decorated and served, it is about eleven inches to twelve inches round in diameter! Now THAT is one HUGE cookie!
The Cookiezilla has all the goodness of your favorite normal sized cookie. It is very moist and super chewy with chocolate chips heavily loaded in every single bite. Over the years I have tried, tested, and tasted various versions of it too! Let me show off all the ones I've baked so far.
Cookiezilla - The Original
The original version of my Cookiezilla is a chocolate chip cookie with a mix of milk, semi-sweet, dark, and white chocolate chips in every bite. When all of those chocolate chips are combined in a cookie it turns out extra soft and fully loaded with the rich taste of chocolate. The cookie has its signature drizzle of chocolate sauce and sprinkle of colored mini chocolate chips on top. The little pop of color that the chips bring is my favorite!
Cookiezilla ~ The Classic Fall Version
This one was baked for a Fall themed lunch gathering. It is the same cookie base with a mix of milk, semi-sweet, dark, and white chocolate chips and the signature chocolate sauce drizzle but decorated with a Fall theme. I frosted a border with vanilla buttercream in a pretty Fall shade and embellished it with Fall colored candy melts. Instead of the multi colored mini chocolate chips I sprinkled Fall themed sprinkles over this one and a leafy motif in the middle decorated with red and green chocolate chips finished it off!
Cookiezilla ~ Gubby's Welcome Party Version
When we hosted a welcome party back when my adorable niece Gubby was born I baked a LOT. Everything was pink and girly and so was this version of the Cookiezilla. The same cookie was decorated with a pink and white border that was embellished with sixlets candies in adorable baby colors. I kept the multi colored mini chocolate chips this time and added a sweet little welcome message piped in vanilla buttercream that said, "Team Phuppo welcomes Gubby" (Phuppo meaning auntie in Urdu). Tiny candy baby feet were the final adorable finishing touch on this super cute Cookiezilla!
Cookiezilla ~~ It's A Boy
Right after the girly version I decorated the Cookiezilla in a boyish theme. This one was a gift for someone's baby shower. I left an inch from the sides this time for frosting the border because I was packing it in a box and transporting it about an hour and a half away from my house. The last thing I'd have wanted to see was my frosting getting smudged before it reached its destination. Eeeeeek, that'd be a horror!
Cookiezilla ~ Chocolate M&Ms Version
We celebrated Gubby's birthday each month up until she turned an year old. Every month we either got dessert from the store (I'd gone through a surgery on my arm and was recovering and resting so there was no baker doing the magic) or ... I did my magic. On one of her birthdays I decided to bake a chocolate version of the Cookiezilla with M&Ms! Ooooooooh dear it was so delicious. I think I want a piece RIGHT NOWWWWWWWWWW!
Cookiezilla ~ M&Ms Version
I equate M&Ms with FUN! So I was obsessed with M&Ms in the Cookiezilla. For this M&Ms version I'd ran out of chocolate sauce so I drizzled melted Candy Melts instead. Deliciousssssss!
Ahem, what can I say ... I think a picture DOES speak a thousand words. At least the one above does!
I am so craving the Cookiezilla all over again now!
