Beautiful Brown Floral Sugar Cookies

Believe me when I tell you this ... that's an edible cookie you're looking at right now.
Have you ever seen cookies so pretty you considered keeping them instead of eating them?
That's the effect the Brown Floral Sugar Cookies had on everyone who set their eyes on them.

They're beautiful, are they not? The Brown Floral Sugar Cookies!

These beautiful sugar cookies were decorated with fondant and sprinkles and were part of our Ramadan favors for 2017. Every year in the month of Ramadan we send a box of goodies to our close ones. While the box usually has cookies and candies in it every year I like to change the designs and themes inside. Last year, a few lucky people received these beautiful sugar cookies as part of the favors and they were loved by all! A lot of my friends said the cookies were too pretty and that they wanted to keep them safe instead of eating them up. Though once they took a bite they wanted to gobble it up all in one go and then ask for more! *laughs*

The cookies were actually a treat for me to make and decorate! There's something awesome about decorating sugar cookies with fondant. I consider them like mini blank canvases that I can unleash my creativity on. So once upon an afternoon, I put on my pink apron with pictures of cupcakes all over it, and got all my tools together to begin decorating these beauties! A couple hours later my blank canvases were full of gorgeousness. The beauty was in the fine details. Let me show you ...

I'd planned these cookies according to our Spring themed favors' boxes and I was going for a brown base with some flowers on top. I made the flowers with yellow fondant and then added to each one of their centers a red pearl. Each one of the pearls was added by hand because I'm all about attention to detail when it comes to decorating my baked creations. I believe if details aren't done right nothing turns out right in the end. Just like that, my flowers looked super cute once I was done with them!

For the base of the decorations I added a tufted effect to my cookies. I love tufting fondant. Like, I'm obsessed with tufted fondant effects! *laughs* I tufted my brown chocolate flavored fondant before adding it on top of the cookie and then placed the handmade yellow flower on top. Finally, I finished the cookies off with some colorful flower shaped sprinkles. Perfection!

Those close up detail pictures! Ah, they make me cry with happiness. These cookies were so pretty and so perfect! They were the simplest of decorations yet the biggest of WOW!

See the tufts in this picture? They were nice fat fluffy tufts! The tufting gave the cookie so much more texture and personality. They were like these pillow like cushiony brown cookies with colorful flowers to boast. Super Spring!

Imagine this: A thick sugar cookie. In your hands. You take a bite. Your teeth sink in. Crisp on the outside and soft and smooth on the inside. Silky feels. Bursting with flavor. Deliciousness. Then the tufted chocolate flavored fondant. The pretty flowers. The oh so perfect cookie. Drooling yet?

  6. I've never seen tufted fondant but it has a really cool effect. I might have to try that some time. I haven't used fondant a lot though so it might be a little challenging for me. The cookies came out so beautiful. I'm sure the recipients were happy. Weekends In Maine

    1. Karen!
Please do try fondant. I used to think it was impossible too until I tried! You won't know unless you use it :D I recommend using Satin Ice fondant because it's so smooth to work with, even for beginners. You'll love it!
Thank youuuuu for always appreciating :D Means a lot to me!
