Eeylops Owl Emporium and Owls Everywhere

Abbie and I were happily exploring Madam Malkin’s shop in Diagon Alley when we passed through a doorway and entered an almost empty room. We had no idea what it was until we looked up above our heads; there must have been at least thirty cages hanging above us with handsome owls sitting in each one of them. It was Eeylops Owl Emporium which is connected to Madam Malkin’s from inside.

If you stand there for a minute and observe, you’ll see the owls move! Some of them turn their adorable faces around and blink those large pretty eyes at you.

It all looks very real, as if those owls would hoot and fly out of their cages any second. But wait, there is more! Abbie nudged me and pointed out something else. It was poop! *laughs* Owl droppings can be found near the ceilings and they look exactly like dried owl droppings should look!

There were many more owls for us to look at even after we had left Eeylops. If you take a right from The Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes shop instead of heading towards the dragon, you come across more owls! There is an Owl Post that is pretty high rise and has a very cool Potter-ish look to it. When Abbie and I looked close we could see more owl droppings and more owls blinking at us from each tiny window like opening.

Look around in Dagon Alley further and you’ll find owls everywhere. Ob-viously (Snape tone) you’re roaming around in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The Magical Menagerie (more about that in another entry!) has a variety of Owl plush toys that are so cute, I totally have my eyes set on them. Next time I visit, maybe I’ll buy a Hedwig!

Owls aren’t just in Diagon Alley, you’ll find them around Hogsmeade as well. Filch’s Emporium of Confiscated Goods has the same Hedwig plush toys that are available in Diagon Alley. I would love to buy one but each time I go there I can’t make up my mind.
I wish they had made a filled plush toy instead of a puppet for Hedwig, it would have been so much cuter to display in my Harry Potter themed bookshelf at home.

Abbie and I also took the photo opportunity in Hogsmeade of standing beside one of the ladies dressed in a green Potter outfit, holding the Hedwig puppet with Spectresepcs on! She was so sweet and Hedwig looked so adorable with Spectrespecs on! Ah, I still can’t decide whether Hedwig would be a nice buy the next time I visit or not …

    1. The Hedwig puppet is hollow in the middle because that's where you insert your hand to make the puppet move. Regardless it is very soft and fluffy. My baby niece loves hugging it because of how nice and fuzzy it is. When I last went there there was only one size available! :)
