Rubeus Hagrid's Hut

If like me you're a crazy fan of the mighty tall half giant of a teacher/friend of Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley, and Hermione Granger then you'll want to go check his hut out! Rubeus Hagrid's hut is part of a ride in Hogsmeade, right across from the Hogwarts Castle. I knew the hut was there because of all the homework I had done before traveling and I nudged Abbie to make a move so we could get pictures taken there also! The reason why she wasn't already heading in that direction was the super long line the ride advertised. We weren't interested in riding, but hey we wanted to see Hagrid's Hut!

This entry belongs to the Bestie Times and the Potterhead labels

We had just gotten off the Forbidden Journey after a fantabulously magical (of course that's a word!) tour of the Hogwarts castle and a kid friendly roller coaster with not much of a ride 'experience' wasn't seeming like a very good idea, especially with that wait time. Abbie and I decided we'd skip this ride and use that time to explore around Hogsmeade instead.

Even though I was fine with skipping the ride I really badly wanted to see Hagrid's Hut. So we proceeded to the blessed staff standing at the entrance (seriously these people have the best jobs in the word, no? They get to work IN the MAGIC!). "Can I please skip the ride and only see the hut and come out? PLEASE!" I pleaded, putting on my most adorable and innocent desperate-potterhead-who-will-cry-and-faint-if-you-refuse face. Heehee, that should totally work, yes? "Of course! Let me lead you girls." Haaaaaaaaa. Told you that would work!

The waiting experience of this ride (which we were skipping gladly thanks to my awesome facial expressions) had us walking through Hagrid's pumpkin patch, complete with the scare crow that we'd seen in movies outside his hut. It was so classic! OMG it feels like Hagrid will be walking out and up to here any second! I looked at Abbie and we exchanged a facial thumbs up expression, that is where you don't show a thumbs up with your hands, you show it with your face!

And OH MY GOD the breathtaking view of the castle from this pumpkin patch!!!

Behold! Applause please as I reveal my first look of Hagrid's Hut!

It was extremely real, just like every other inch of this magical theme park that had blown our minds away. It felt like any second I would hear Fang barking inside and then have Hagrid open up the front door to invite me and Abbie in for some rock cakes and tea. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, could this place get any better? NO wait, it WILL get better, I know!!!!

Just as some golden words spoken by a crazy Potterhead let me add: SKIP the line here because the coaster is more of a kid-thing (I do NOT do coasters because I freak out but I say this based on how there were mostly kids fussing around about going on it) and you don't really get to see anything more on the ride other than Buckbeak who bows its head in front of you. If you have facial expression powers like me, ask the people to let you in so you can see that classic hut of Hagrid's!

  2. I love Hagrid and his hut. I didn't know it was part of a ride though. How awesome is that?

    1. The hut is just beside the ride. The ride is actually a family friendly roller coaster, short and sweet, which has the coasters made to look like a hippogriff. When the ride begins Buckbeak bows and allows you to go on and then it's just a roller coaster with not much of an experience (unlike The Forbidden Journey which will blow your mind away!) ... so if you just want to see the hut do what we did and save time :D
