After many many days of all work and hardly any play, I walk towards the magic with my bestie-sis Abbie beside me. Our cameras rolling as we Snapchat and selfie and Instagram and what not because the excitement must be recorded. Walking towards the magic and then seeing the entrance to it. Walking all the way through to get our first glimpse of the magnificent castle. Hogwarts, our home, welcoming us! The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Orlando ... that is my happiest memory!
Just the two of us, no worries, no stress, no troubles, no work, no concept of reality at all. The first touch of the magic brick wall. The feeling of pure bliss in our hearts. The lightheaded feel of joy. No care in the world except the difficult decisions of which merchandise to buy and take home and which one to leave behind. Diagon Alley's cozy alleyways bustling with witches, wizards, and muggles. Magic all around us ... that is my happiest memory!
The first sip of frozen Butterbeer. Posing for the camera as we make our Butterbeer mustache. The brain freeze from sipping too much too quickly because of too much excitement. Sharing the chilled form of liquid bliss in a cup with my Abbie. That is my happiest memory!
Starving ourselves so we can devour the quality ice cream from Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour. Sticky Toffee Pudding, Salted Caramel Blondie, Chocolate Chili, Strawberry Peanut Butter ... so so many extremely delicious flavors to pick from. Sharing it in the beautiful souvenir cup and then heading to the washroom to wash it and stuff it in our bags to take home with us. That is my happiest memory!
Heading to The Three Broomsticks or The Leaky Cauldron to share the delectable Sticky Toffee Pudding with Abbie. The warm dense cakey base, the sweet sticky syrup, the cold vanilla ice cream melting smoothly and trickling down the sides as we grab a spoon each and dig in. Not caring about the calories or the weight gain or anything worldly at all ... That is my happiest memory!
Spending hours just sitting and staring at that magical castle. Spending hours in line to get inside and ride the Forbidden Journey. Shouting so loud just to have the maximum level of fun as the ride twists, turns, and tosses us all around. Screaming at the top of my lungs when Aragog and his spider army attacks. Feeling the hot against my skin as the dragon breathes fire on us. Escaping the Dementors as they try to suck our souls. That is my happiest memory!
Seeing the scarlet engine blow off steam, ready to go. Hearing the choo choo as we get in line to board the Hogwarts Express. Getting aboard and being directed to a cabin. Hearing the trolley lady walk past our cabin. Harry, Ron, and Hermione walk past too. Enjoying the passing display in the window. Feeling the train speed on towards Hogwarts/Diagon Alley. That is my happiest memory!
That majestic dragon sitting atop the rickety Gringotts building. Raising our heads and cameras to witness the dragon breathing fire every few minutes. The hustle and bustle of Diagon Alley. The shops full of merchandise waiting for us to take it home. That is my happiest memory!
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter with my best friend Abbie!
THAT is my happiest memory!
