My Favorite Quotes & Moments From Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. The third one in the magical series of books and movies that changed my life forever. Prisoner of Azkaban is actually one of my favorite books and also one of my favorite movies of the HP series. It's just packed with so many things, so much information, so much emotion. In the third book there happens to be just so much character development, so many plot twists that leave me on the edge of my seat even if reading for the thousandth time, and so many mind blowing background building events ... it is just loaded!

POA doesn't even wait a second to dive into the magical drama which Harry's life is all about. Right from the start I was hooked. First I found it so delightful that for the first time Harry actually receives mail from his friends. In his second year Dobby doesn't let him feel that happiness, so this is the first time he is actually in touch with his friends while staying at the Dursleys in their muggle abode. Second, I loved and completely related to the way he was trying his best to be nice just to get his permission form for Hogsmeade signed. Hahahaha! Now didn't that happen to me all my life? But for Harry it doesn't end well, does it? He ends up blowing up Aunt Marge, and to be honest she rightly deserved it. I was cheering in my head reading about it and laughing out loud watching it in the movie.

And then this is the book/movie when we are first introduced to the brilliant Knight Bus. It was fascinating in the books and hilariously done in the movie! I was left wishing it were real and could come rescue poor old stranded me from this Muggle world too. The Knight Bus is also where the mystery begins to build and we're introduced to Sirius Black - a character whom I have come to love ever since POA.

The Knight Bus then takes Harry to Diagon Alley. In POA we find out so much more detail about Diagon Alley which I love. I also feel super happy for Harry, who enjoys his new found freedom here. This is the first time he's alone by himself, exploring the Wizarding World. And then we're also introduced to the fantastic beast of a book - the Monster Book of Monsters! So cool! And one of the reasons this movie is my favorite one from the HP series is also because I thought Daniel Radcliffe looked GORGEOUS in this movie. I mean, look at him, he looked his best in POA!!!

Beautiful quote from Prisoner of Azkaban and one of my favorites too!

Prisoner of Azkaban just kept introducing so many new characters, spells, and magical stuff - it was just mind boggling-ly exciting! We also met the dreaded Dementors during this book with their super cool - albeit scary - soul sucking depression vibes. Then we met Professor Lupin who happens to be my favorite professor during Harry's time at Hogwarts. Oh and thanks to Professor Lupin we were introduced to the Patronus charm. I think Patronuses are beautiful - its the most beautiful form of magic shown in the Harry Potter books and the experience of learning it with Harry was just ... beautiful!

Professor Lupin also gave me my most favorite piece of advice ever: Eat, you'll feel better!

POA also brought us Buckbeak - majestic, fierce, beautiful Buckbeak!

As if we already hadn't been introduced to lots of new magic and new characters, Prisoner of Azkaban is where Divination and Professor Trelawney first appeared and we all know how important she would become to our plot later on! I loved the way Harry and Ron were bored out of their senses in this class plus a teacher who has nothing but bad news - now isn't that relatable!!! It was also fun seeing Hermione's new fierce side, one which could act against teachers too!

It is also during this book and movie that Hogsmeade becomes real. The beautiful snowy village of Hogsmeade - and little did I know back when I was reading the book for the first time ever, that in the near future I would actually be able to visit Hogsmeade at Universal Orlando. *wipes emotional tears*

Okay, without a doubt, the best part of Prisoner of Azkaban is the Marauders Map! So useful, so cool, and so so so brilliant for insulting Snape that one time! Hahahaha! The twins were hilarious as always and it was so nice of them, honestly, to hand over the map to Harry. I loved every bit of the map in the books and the movies. It was SO exciting to read about what all Harry was able to see on it ... I would love a map like that if I were at Hogwarts.

Okay ... BEST moment of POA? Hahahahahaaaaaaaaaahahahahaha!

And we also meet this tree. The Whomping Willow! And that entire part of the plot blew my mind.

Who wouldn't agree with me that THIS was just insane. Finding out about the entrance to the Shrieking Shack and then finding Sirius Black and then doubting him and hating him until he reveals it all. The feeling of despair upon knowing the man had been innocent and yet had suffered Azkaban. Then finding out about Lupin being a werewolf and the entire Marauders stuff. OH MY GOD. Mindblown. And Scabbers being Pettigrew. I mean, Rowling just kept throwing these big BOOMS at me and I was just going crazy flipping pages because I was just mindblown.

I love this quote! For in dreams, we enter a world that's entirely our own.

I remember, when I was reading POA for the first time I was curious why the book had felt like it had reached its climax but there were still many pages left. What could happen now? And then just when I thought nothing more could happen to me at the hands of POA - TIME TURNER happened. It was beautifully written, very well planned, and just so exciting. Everything made sense, everything was clear, and everything fit. I was left with my jaw hanging open ...

*Silently sobbing* ... Prisoner of Azkaban gave Harry what I think was the closest to having a family that he could have ever felt. It was so emotional to have him bond with Sirius ... and for Sirius too this was like getting his James back ... *sobs* ... just way too emotional and thus my favorite.

*Sobbing*

And let us never forget that POA gave the Potterverse its most favorite quote ever!
Turn to page 394.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is truly a gem of a book. Emotions, action, suspense, and drama. It just has everything. I thought it was this book during which Harry begins to face some of the darkest aspects of his past, during which he solves the mystery of his parents' deaths, and confronts his history head on. Harry is forced to grow up and show immense courage in the third installment in the Harry Potter series - and with Harry we grew up too, we fought alongside too, and we went through all the emotional ups and downs too. We were all there ... I was there. Through it all.
