Adorable Leaf People DIY Craft

Ta daaaaaaaaaaa! Meet our leaf people. The lovely leaf people I made with my niece Gubby! Actually, we did this last year in Fall. Look close, it is dated November of 2018. I just never got around to posting it back then and before I knew it the Fall season had ended. It would have been useless posting this in Winter of course so I decided to wait. Now, finally when Fall 2019 has officially arrived, I'm kicking off my Fall blogging with these adorable leaf people!

I try my best to find good seasonal activities for Gubby. They keep her excited about the changing seasons. She loves Fall and Winter just like me and activities and crafts such as these make everything double the fun. For this adorable activity Gubby and I stepped outdoors together. Hand in hand, we made our way to the backyard where the gorgeous trees swayed in the gentle Fall breeze with their stunning colors. A melange of red, green, yellow, and orange ... Fall is breathtakingly beautiful. *sighs* My darling dolly and I collected leaves of different shapes and colors and sizes. I needed only a few but I let Gubby collect lots of them so she'd see how each one was different than the other. She enjoyed herself so much, she didn't want to head back inside! Hahaha!

I found the idea on Pinterest and loved it so much. Whoever came up with this must be a genius! It's super simple really. We just stuck the leaves on a paper and then stuck googly eyes on it and drew a mouth with Sharpie. But of course because this was so simple everything just had to go wrong. First of all, the liquid glue thing Gubby gave me was new to me and I realized it was making the paper way too soggy! Then Gubby was running out of patience because the glue wasn't drying fast enough and she wanted to stick the googly eyes and draw the mouth. Because of that she ended up ripping one of the leaves a tiny little bit. She thought she'd ruined it but when I taped it with magic tape and 'rescued' it she looked at me like I was some superhero! Hahahahaha! Until and unless things go wrong and we have a panic attack and a superhero moment, it isn't fun, right?

Check out these adorable close ups!

Abbie joined us too and then we decided we'd sign off our names on the bottom! We added Chunky too of course, the Bubbster club isn't complete without her!

Such a fun activity this one was! Of course, the leaves started shedding and breaking by the time the year ended so we couldn't keep it. I'm thinking we should totally do this again this Fall. Gubby would love it and maybe have more patience this time too. I'm also thinking of skipping the annoying glue and using double sided tape or something maybe! That would be cool! I'm looking forward to it!
