The Knight Bus

As we walked all the way to an end of Universal Studios, Orlando we had no clue when we would get our first glimpse of the new Harry Potter park. When we finally reached the place we were stunned! It was London. No wait, weren't we in United States? Yes. But it was London. They've brought a mini version of London to the US for Harry Potter fans to enjoy! Abbie and I could see King's Cross station, the record shop from the books, the entrance to The Leaky Cauldron which opened up to Diagon Alley, and the building we knew was Grimmauld Place (because we had our noses in all Potter updates since months before our visit was even planned). Another highlight right across from all these buildings and shops was the funky purple bus we instantly recognized! It was the Knight Bus and wow ... it was standing for real in front of us!

This entry belongs to the Bestie Times and the Potterhead label

A guy dressed as Stan Shunpike plays the role of Knight Bus's conductor. These men shift their duties like the adorable uncle who stands in Hogsmeade against the Hogwarts Express engine. They talk to you and speak about all kinds of things that will make you laugh and you can take photos with them. To me, what was more interesting and fun than the conductor was the shrunken head hanging inside the bus behind him. The shrunken head will talk to you, it will move, and it is the coolest thing you'll be conversing with while visiting the park (the goblins of Gringotts are obviously close competition but because they are sulky they stand second on that list). I spoke to the shrunken head directly and that made me so happy I had a bounce in my step as I headed off and away from the bus. I love that shrunken head! *laughs*

There is also a photo opportunity at the back of the bus, where you can climb a step or two as if entering the bus and have somebody take your picture there. The bus is not accessible from the inside so forget about experiencing THAT magic. But yes, nevertheless, the Knight Bus standing in its entirety for real in front of my eyes was extremely magical.

I couldn't get a picture taken climbing the steps of the Knight Bus this time so that is definitely on my Next Time list. Seriously though, just go and hug the bus, you'll love it if you're a Potterhead as crazy as I am!

  1. So jealous! I've always wanted to go there! My husband isn't as big of a fan as I am, so hopefully one day I will be able to convince him to go!

    1. Awww! I fear that about marriage (my husband not being a Potterhead!) ... I think when I decide to get married I'll make sure he is a Potterhead, how is that for a marriage criteria? :D Hahahaha!
I really hope you convince him soon!
