Cinnamon Roll Cookies

Imagine your favorite Cinnamon Rolls but only better and in cookie form!
The Cinnamon Roll Cookies - a cookie that is different, delicious, and bursting with flavor!

Let me tell you something about Cinnamon Rolls. I'm not really a huge fan. I mean, they have to be really flavorful and baked to real perfection for me to love them. Cinnabon's, for example, are delicious but some of the other ones that I've tasted so far in my life weren't too good. Some were either too yeasty or they weren't soft and fluffy enough to match up to my tastes and liking. I like my Cinnamon Rolls super soft, cloud like, full of cinnamon goodness, and glazed in sweet sweet deliciousness. These cookies hit that mark and then go a step further. These are PERFECT!

To make these beautifully delicious cookies I first made a flavorful sugar cookie dough. Sugar cookies are one of my favorites and their buttery smell and melt-in-your-mouth texture simply drive me crazy. Next, I brushed a double layer of melted butter onto the dough. Did you hear me? I said a DOUBLE (two wholes!) layer of melted butter. On top of the buttery deliciousness I sprinkled a thick and even layer of cinnamon and sugar. Then I rolled it all up together and off it went to the fridge to chill. When completely chilled, I sliced that log up and baked away!

LOOK AT HOW THICK THE CINNAMON SUGAR FILLING IS IN THESE COOKIES!!!

As soon as the cookies were in the oven and a couple of minutes had passed I knew these were going to turn out absolutely divine for the house smelled delicious. The entire house was filled with a sweet cinnamon-y scent. It was too delicious to handle and I had to fold my hands behind my back and twist them together tightly to stop myself from opening that oven door before the timer went off. Once the oven beeped, though, I couldn't wait anymore and I didn't even wait for the cookies to cool and just dived into that baking tray. I broke one in half - it was extremely soft and hadn't even set completely because it was so fresh - and took a piece to Abbie for tasting.

CINNAMON. BUTTER. SOFT. SWEET .... Mmmmmmmmm ....

Abbie said it the instant the flavors spread inside her mouth: "These really are Cinnamon Rolls!"
They really really tasted like actual Cinnamon Rolls minus the yeasty bit. In fact the cookie version was actually loads better than the actual rolls! Now, I had everything but I am all about perfection so naturally I just had to do it: GLAZE! The glaze is a signature part of Cinnamon Rolls so why should my cookies stay deprived?

See the deliciousness dripping from this picture?
I glazed my cookies, alright! Not just a single layer of it, a DOUBLE layer of glaze. A sugary vanilla glaze which basically took the cookies to a whole new level of awesome, surpassing the taste and flavor of even the tastiest of Cinnamon Rolls.

My baby niece LOVED these cookies too and it was a good laugh trying to make her say their name. "Chinnamon Lol Tooties," she said and I burst out laughing. Hilarious!
I'm NEVER going to forget the taste of these Cinnamon Roll Cookies all my life. Their buttery smell, the vanilla sugar, and the delicious cinnamon kick ... *droooooooooools*
